FEATURED STORIES

BARRY MILES AND “80 YEARS YOUNG”

January 18, 2026

As a solo artist, Barry Miles has continued to refine and expand his own voice across two full-length albums. His most recent release, Things Are Looking Up (April 2025), marks his boldest stylistic shift to date. The album pairs deeply personal reflections with a well-crafted alt-rock sensibility, pointing to new creative territory.

In his role as Music Director for YES Theatre, Miles most recently provided orchestrations and arrangements for last summer’s hit production, Never Break the Chain: The Music of Fleetwood Mac. He returns this winter with 80 Years Young – Celebrating the Music Legend, Neil Young, playing at YES Theatre on January 22 and 23.

The Waxwing was fortunate to talk to Barry Miles about his musical journey, the upcoming production of 80 Years Young, and the ever-evolving state of music-making in Sudbury.
